The Vanishing White-naped Tit of the Aravallis

Video Updated : Jul 02, 2025
In the millenia-old hills of the Aravalli mountains of Rajasthan, there is a tiny and elusive resident whose high-pitched call rings boldly through the wilderness. The white-naped tit, a small bird that favours thorny scrub forests, is a rare species, classified as 'vulnerable' on the IUCN Red list. Highly dependent on its habitat for survival, this bird's future is now under threat. As the more of the hills are quarried and mined for minerals, the white-naped tit's song is a call to action.
