Why is it called the brainfever bird?

Males produce a loud, repetitive three-note call during the breeding season which become higher and louder, rising to a crescendo before ending abruptly. In the summer, the calls may go on throughout the day, well after dusk and before dawn. The bird’s ceaseless calls led the colonial British to call it the brainfever bird.

What does the common hawk-cuckoo eat?

They mainly eat insects. Specialised feeders – they can consume hairy caterpillars.

Where is the common hawk-cuckoo found?

They are found across the Indian Subcontinent
