It is native to the high-altitude regions of the Himalayas, ranging from 2,500 to 4000 metres above sea level.

Worker bees can grow up to 3 cm in length.
Do Himalayan giant honeybees migrate?
They exhibit seasonal migration. Himalayan giant honeybees migrate to lower altitudes during the winter months and return to higher altitudes during spring.
