How to identify the Indian bullfrog?
The Indian bullfrog is India's largest frog and can grow up to 17 centimeters long. These frogs characteristically have tiger-like stripes and their colour varies from dull brown to olive green. They can also be easily identified by a distinctive line that runs from the tip of the snout to the vent.
Where is the Indian bullfrog found?
These frogs mostly inhabit both natural and aritificial freshwater wetlands across South and Southeast Asia. Often commonly found in paddy fields. The species is native to India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. They were introduced to Madagascar, the Maldives and the Andaman Islands
What do Indian bullfrogs eat?
Indian bullfrogs eat invertibrates, small mammals and birds. At the tadpole stage, their diet is carnivorous, and they hunt invertibrates including other tadpoles and mosquito larvae.
