What is the difference between an Indian peafowl and a peacock?

The Indian peafowl is also known as the common peafowl and blue fowl and is also sometimes referred to as the peacock. Though used for both sexes technically peacock refers to the male Indian peafowl while the females are called peahens.

What do Indian peafowl eat?

The diet of Indian peafowl is varied and includes insects, worms, lizards,frogs, snakes and termites. They also eat flower buds and petals, grain, grass and bamboo shoots.

What kind of habitat do the Indian peafowl prefer?

The Indian peafowl prefer forests and shrublands across the Indian subcontinent.
