What does the Indian spotted creeper eat?

The diet of the Indian spotted creeper consists of caterpillars, beetles and bugs, and arachnids.

Where is the Indian spotted creeper found?

This hard-to-spot bird occurs in north-central India. There are two sub-species, the Salpornis spilonota rajputanae is found in central & southeast Rajasthan. While the Salpornis spilonota spilonota is found in eastern Gujarat, southern Haryana, northern Uttar Pradesh, northern Bihar, south to eastern Maharashtra, northern Andhra Pradesh, southeast Madhya Pradesh, Goa.

Where might I see the Indian spotted creeper?

The preferred habitat of these birds are deciduous forests in the plains and hills, with tree trunks with fissured bark. Usually in mature trees. They are also found in mango plantation.
