In India, the white-naped tit occurs in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. They are largely resident birds, though they may show some local movement post the breeding season.

Mixed dry deciduous and scrub forests, acacia and thorn-scrub landscapes in hilly and low rainfall areas.
