WHAT IS THIS WRITING CONTEST ON?
The flutter of a wing. A glistening beak flashing in the purple whorls of the Jacaranda. A song to match the snazziest tune. You do not have to travel far to feel the magic of the avian world. Birds are all around us – in our gardens, city parks, roadside trees and sometimes, even atop the city’s busiest traffic signal. Aaasheesh Pittie’s book The Living Air is a celebration of this ubiquitous beauty.
If you are fascinated by birds, this contest is just right for you. All you have to do is write a short essay on any bird. It can be about an observation in the garden, by the roadside, or from the jungle. The essay can also capture a larger scene in a wetland, grassland, or any wild space.
