WHAT IS THIS WRITING CONTEST ON?
We may not often notice, but we share our neighbourhoods (even the most urban ones) with a variety of wild creatures. In this essay contest, we invite you to write about your wild neighbourhoods.
The theme of the contest is a nod to Ruskin Bond's newest book: The Hill of Enchantment: The Story of My Life as a Writer. In this memoir, which marks the writer's 90th birthday on May 19, Ruskin Bond reveals how nature, solitude, and the view from his window shaped his creative process.
HOW DO I SUBMIT MY SHORT ESSAY?
1. To send in your entry, write a short essay (around 300 words) on the topic 'My Wild Neighbourhood' and then simply go to the form here.
2. Upload your essay, fill in the required details, accept the terms and conditions, and hit submit.
3. Entries are open to all Indian residents (age no bar!).

SELECTION PROCESS
Five winners selected by India’s beloved writer Ruskin Bond will receive his new book The Hill of Enchantment: The Story of My Life as a Writer.
TIMELINES
The writing contest will be open from 1700 on April 19, 2024 to 2400 on May 9, 2024. The winners will be announced on May 19, 2024.
