What does the common tailorbird eat?

The diet of the common tailorbird consists of insects, small-sized invertibrates, and nectar from flowers, especially that of the silk cotton tree.

What is special about the common tailorbird?

Tailorbirds get their name from the tailored nests that they create. They are known for s sewing leaves together and lining their nest with feathers, cotton, fibers and soft material. The female builds the nest after selecting suitable leaves through which she pierces a series of holes along the perimeter and sews them together.The nest is usually places close to the ground, usually within 1-5m from the surface
