Where are golden jackals found? 

Golden jackals are found in dry, open habitats, grasslands, secondary forests, periphery of settlements, evergreen and deciduous forests in most states of India. They are also found in North and East Africa, southeastern Europe, Middle East and South Asia (upto Myanmar).

Do golden jackals howl? 

Golden jackals use a wide repertoire of howls used to communicate with one another. They use these howls to communicate territorial and social interactions. Jackal howls used to be characteristic evening calls in many landscapes across India, but many places have now fallen silent.

What do golden jackal eat? 

Golden jackal eat carrion, small- and medium-sized mammals, insects, fruits and may also eat fish and crabs. They are known to hide remains of prey/food from other scavengers.
