Where are house sparrows found? 

House sparrows are found in cities, towns, villages, farms and the countryside in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Europe, Mediterranean countries, Eurasia (Russia, former Soviet states, Mongolia, China, Tibet). They usually avoid dense forests and are found in medium (10-20) to large-sized (20+) flocks on low bushes, on the ground or on buildings. 

What do house sparrows eat? 

House sparrows eat grains, seeds, berries and fruits, insects (during the breeding season), human food/scraps, small frogs, and sometimes molluscs and crustaceans on the shoreline. 

Is house sparrow population decreasing? 

Yes, once very common across India, the house sparrow has disappeared from large areas. It is still common in many rural landscapes.
