Where is the purple frog found?
It is only found in the Southern Western Ghats of India (Kerala and Tamil Nadu).
What is the purple frog's habitat?
The purple frog prefers damp, aerated/loose soil under canopy cover in tropical evergreen forests. Usually found below 1000 m elevation. Seasonal fast-flowing streams are a suitable habitat for purple frog tadpoles.
What does the purple frog eat?
Soil mites, termites, earthworms and other small invertebrates.
