Are striped hyenas threatened? 

Striped hyenas are near threatened on the IUCN Red List. Some threats include getting poisoned by humans, becoming roadkill and getting killed for body parts to be used in traditional medicine. 

What do striped hyenas eat? 

Striped hyenas usually scavenge on carcasses and human refuse. They are adept at consuming bones. They can hunt medium to small-sized prey.

Where are striped hyenas found?

Striped hyenas prefer savanna, scrub, grasslands, rocky hills, ravines and forest habitats. They are found in arid and semi-arid ecosystems across peninsular India, absent in the Northeast and the Himalayas. They are also found in Northern and Eastern Africa, the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
