Where is Bengal fox found in India?
The Bengal fox is found mostly in western, central and peninsular India. They inhabit dry or wet grasslands, dry open or scrub habitats, tropical dry forests, rural settlements, rocky outcrops, ravines/mounds, agricultural fields and agroforests.
What does Bengal fox eat?
They eat a wide array of food, adapting to whatever is available. Usually arthropods, rodents, reptiles, fruits and birds.
Is Bengal fox endangered?
The conservation status of the Bengal fox is Least Concern on the IUCN Red List and the species is protected under Schedule II of the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
